In the 80s DCN participated in the construction of the Oosterscheldekering, the largest Delta works in the history of the Netherlands. This project was a stepping stone for the company and it was here where the company started to implement underwater dry solutions. During the installation of the structures the concrete mattresses were damaged. DCN was contracted to repair these in the dry underwater. A habitat was utilized to conduct the repair in the dry.

Other works where DCN participated in:

  • Pre-survey
  • Core Drilling
  • Underwater concreting
  • Assistance with installation of the structures

During this project, the Dutch Diving Tables were developed as the Sterk-Vriens tables. The NDC (National Diving Centre) was also founded by W. Vriens Snr. during this period.
